Mercy Int’l Academy Dedicates Mini Bank
The Mercy International Academy (MIA) Enterprise on Monday dedicated a mini bank that will provide money remittance services in Caldwell, Dixville Deep Curve Side, outskirts of Monrovia.
Speaking at the dedication ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of the mini bank, Rev. Wisdom Zio, stated that the bank is in partnership with the International Bank (IB) Limited to help provide easy access to banking services in the local community.
Rev. Zio said the bank is a local agent of IB, which will facilitate scholarship scheme for young Liberian females across Liberia.
According to him, in order to eradicate poverty from among young Liberian females, it is important to empower them through quality education.
He noted that many young Liberian females are abused sexually as a result of poverty, but with advanced education empowerment they will be able to overcome such abuse in the society.
Rev. Zio underscored that the mini bank will also be used to provide health insurance for church members to ensure that their medical histories are documented.
He pointed out that his business’s objective is to partner with Liberians who have access to land to establish schools, churches, businesses of different kinds to help lift more Liberians out of poverty.
He asserted that partnership in business is critical in building and transforming the living standard of Liberians, but it will require trustworthiness and honesty from them.
Meanwhile, the Manager of the mini bank, Stelior Kettor, said establishment of a mini bank in the community is a dream come true.
Kettor stated that the mini bank will provide basic services within the banking sector, and hoped that the people of Caldwell Dixville will transact businesses with the bank.
She promised to provide quality services and friendly banking environment to enhance customer service, and that the money remittance services will be prioritized at all levels.
For his part, the Remittance Supervisor of the International Bank Limited Caldwell Branch, J. Morris Kollie, said the bank is promoting local banking services to enhance savings across the country.
Supervisor Kollie explained that IB is partnering with the MIA Mini Bank to ensure that people have access to banking services in Caldwell Dixville.
He noted that saving money in the bank is important to control spending habit and managing one’s earning responsibly.
The dedication was graced by members of the Liberia Association of Gospel Musical Artists (LAGMA), Ambassador Christian Fellowship, community, friends, family and well-wishers.
