The National Civil Society Union of Liberia (NACSUL) says its attention is seized by a salvo of smear attempts being deployed against Grand Gedeh County Senator, Albert Marshall Dennis, with the latest attempt being staged on Facebook by Felton Gayee, believed to be a proxy fighter of Superintendent Kai G. Farley and Representative Alex Chersia Grant, in which he alleged that Senator Dennis was encouraging activities of protest to the detriment of the county.

In a release issued on Friday, June 24, 2022 and signed by NACSUL’s President, Amos B.S. Kanneh, the group refuted the allegation. “We find this allegation to be ungrounded, fallacious and corrosive, in contrast to the deserving praises of Senator Dennis for his role as a people-centered and duty-focused lawmaker,” the release said.

President Kanneh, in the release, said, “NACSUL also finds it doubtful that Senator Dennis, who has been keen about the security of not just the county but Liberia at large as shown by his advocacy for serious security attention to be given to the situation of Burkinabes illegally and without regards for our sovereignty as a nation, flooding our forests and engaging in unwholesome activities including, but not limited to unwarranted forest degradation, devastating and ravaging merchantable species of high commercial values, etc., all of which threaten the shared security of our sub-region, will be in fact implicated in such a planning. NACSUL condemns this smear war, which evidence in our possession shows is being instigated by Superintendent Kai Farley and his cohorts.

“However, while we register our profound sadness over the smear campaign against this great servant of the people, who has occasioned his services with a hallmark of sincerity and respect for the rule of law, we use this time to equally contend with Representative Alex C. Grant of district #3, who has on the other hand begun his sojourn for the senatorial seat of the county by maliciously using the name of Senator Dennis as a trump card. We have carefully followed the pattern of mischaracterization, calumny and falsehood being orchestrated by overnight advocates and political caricatures posing as contenders for the seat of Senator of Grand Gedeh County—a seat currently being occupied by Senator Dennis. We say to the people of the county that Senator Dennis is a gem in public service that should not be gambled for uncertainty.”

the release continued, “As we speak, the senator is the Chair of the Senate Standing Committee on Banking and Currency, a prestigious position he has held since his ascendancy to the first branch of the Liberian government; as such, it will be foolhardy for the people to look beyond him for a replacement when, in fact, he brings many benefits to his county in this role as senator.

“NACSUL cautions the people of the Grand Gedeh County not to look the way of Representative Grant, whose services to the county are as questionable as his fraudulent credentials he claimed to have obtained from one of the world’s most prestigious universities, University of Ibadan in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We are following the debate against this dubious academic fraudster and a mastermind in most mysterious deaths and disappearances in the county, which has made the people of the county to live in perpetual fear, and will soon release the cache of information we have in our possession at his detriment if he continues to misrepresent this resourceful servant of the people of Grand Gedeh County.”

President Kanneh said they are seizing the opportunity, through this medium, to openly endorse and support the re-election of the illustrious son and statesman of Grand Gedeh County and the Republic of Liberia, Senator Albert Marshall Dennis, for his steadfastness, sensitivity to the plight of the less fortunate, his role in the revitalization of the ailing economy through his rigorous oversight and his ceaseless capacity building efforts of the young people of the county and country, etc.
