–Sen. J. Gbleh-bo Brown

Maryland County Senator, J. Gbleh-bo Brown, has said that national reconciliation is vital to the development agenda of Liberia. The Maryland County lawmaker stated that in the absence genuine reconciliation it would be impossible to move the country’s national development agenda forward. According to him, true reconciliation is very important for the forward match of Liberia’s development drive.

Senator Brown added that the speech of this year’s 177th Independence Day orator speaks volumes of all national leaders of the country. He stated that this year’s Independence Day orator spoke to a point.

Senator Brown made the statement on Friday, July 26, 2024 at the program marking the 177th Independence Day in an interview with journalists at the Centennial Pavilion in Monrovia.

The Maryland County senator stated that they, as national leaders of the country, need to put aside the political bickering amongst themselves and begin to put the country national development agenda first.

According to him, they as national leaders have a pivotal role to play in conducting the affairs of the country in a positive direction, and underscored the need for Liberians to hold together as one to move the development agenda of Liberia in a positive way.

“It is now time for us to put behind us the bitterness and put Liberia first,” Senator Brown told Liberians. Elaborating further, the Maryland County lawmaker expressed appreciation to the Almighty God and the citizens for his re-election. Senator Brown got re-elected by the citizens of Maryland County because of his workings at the Legislature and in the county.

The lawmaker, since his election at the Legislature, has been working in the interest of his people. The well-being of the citizens of Maryland County has been paramount on the agenda of Senator Brown. He contested on the ticket of the former ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) in the 2023 general and presidential elections and got re-elected.
