The National Elections Commission (NEC) on Friday, August 13, 2021 certificated Simeon Boima Taylor as Senator of Grand Cape Mount County, following the December 8, 2020 special senatorial election.
The certification of Simeon Taylor followed the reading of the mandate of the Supreme Court of Liberia, reaffirming the decision of the Board of Commissioners of NEC, which declared Simeon B. Taylor, Collaborating Political Parties (CPP), winner of the December 8, 2020 SSE election.
Taylor’s certification ceremony was performed by the Chairperson of NEC, Cllr. Davidetta Browne Lansanah, at a colorful program in the James M. Fromayan Conference Hall, headquarters of NEC, 9th Street, Sinkor.
Responding, Senator Simeon B. Taylor said, despite the many challenges, the Board of Commissioners stood their ground to uphold its integrity of the Commission, which was under public glance. Senator Taylor said he was for all, including his major challenger, former Senator Victor Watson of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC).
