NEC, PCC End Formularization Meeting
The National Elections Commission (NEC) and the Public Procurement Concession Commission (PPCC) Friday, June 18, 2021 ended a one-day formularization meeting at the headquarters of the Procurement Commission in Monrovia. NEC-Liberia requested the meeting with authorities of PPCC.
Speaking during the meeting, NEC-Liberia Chairperson, Cllr. Davidetta Browne Lansanah, said the meeting was part of on-going outreach to discuss with other connected agencies and institutions in the hope to further strengthening the work of NEC as an integrity institution.
Cllr. Browne Lansanah assured the PPCC authorities of the Commission’s desire to always follow the law, adding that guidance from the PPCC will further enhance the capacity of NEC to remain in full procurement compliance.
For her part, PPCC Executive Director, Atty. Roseline Nagbe Kowo, welcomed the initial discussions with the NEC.
The NEC said its anticipation of the advisory meeting is to strengthen the commission’s intuitional performance as per the PPCC regulations.
Both the Chairperson of NEC and the PPCC Executive Director underscored the importance of working in line with the law to uphold the integrity of the two institutions.
The NEC Executive Director, Anthony Sengbe, Procurement Director, Joseph A. Yasiah, and Acting Deputy Communications Director, Prince Dunbar, attended the meeting. The PPCC Director of Compliance and Monitoring, Himmie Langford, also attended the meeting.
