Representative Francis Nyumalin has alarmed that President-elect Joseph N. Boakai should not be taken for granted by Liberians when it comes to justice dispensation and a declared decree implementation; writes Ojuku Silver-tongue Kangar, Jr.

“When he tells you no, it means no; yes, it means yes,” Representative Nyumalin said, ensuring Liberians that President-elect Boakai will not exercise friendship and selective justice in his administration.

“He can take decision, but does not rush to take any decision because he has problem in changing them when taken.”

Representative Nyumalin, who is President-elect Boakai’s kinsman, said since his interaction with him from youthful age to present the President-elect has reacted to issues in a civilized manner, observing that he does not insult, but when he gets angry he talks to one and counsel him or her in the end.

“He is resolved, resilient, and is record keeping. He believes [that] all of us are born equal and we must live equally,” Representative Nyumalin revealed his kinsman’s ideology. “He believes in touching lives – the young and old people, and he is not tribal.”

President-elect Boakai, who defeated out-going President George M. Weah in the 2023 general elections, will be inaugurated on January 22, 2024.

His platform, AREST, which means, agriculture, roads, education, sanitation and tourism, is set to transform Liberia greatly, according to individuals within the President-elect’s inner orbit.

According to Representative Nyumalin, Liberia is broken down in every sector under the Coalition for Democratic Change’s (CDC) administration, headed by President Weah. He catalogued the justice, labor, education, security, civil society sectors, and so on, as needing rebranding.

As Liberians are eager to see a drug-free society, job opportunities, the rule of law implemented, among others, which are the hallmark of the in-coming administration, the President-elect has assured Liberians that he will leave no stone unturned.

“When a leader leads by example, others follow. If you have a criminal President, the cabinet ministers will be criminals,” Nyumalin said. “President-elect Boakai will fire, prosecute, send to jail, and confiscate properties acquired over night at the expense of the Liberian people.”

As Montserrado County is overcrowded with not-busy people due to the low employment rate, especially youths, Representative Nyumalin said job creation is President-elect Boakai’s priority, noting that working together reconciles people.

The President-elect has vowed to clampdown on narcotic drug which was the concern of the electorate during the campaign period.

Illicit drugs are taking over Liberia, as parents grieve on a daily basis seeing their children falling prey to narcotic drugs.

While all eyes are on the in-coming Unity Party administration to tackle drugs and corruption, it has ensured the elimination of illicit mining by foreigners nationwide and to give Liberians the right to explore their economy. It vowed not to tolerate corruption and selective justice, according to Nyumalin.
