The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Peace Home Medical Clinic (PHMC) Incorporated has appealed to the Liberian government and members of the international community to provide some medical assistance to the clinic.

Dr. Joseph T. Boakai stated that the clinic has been operating over the years without any form of assistance from the government and its international partners within the health sector, but now needs assistance to serve humanity.

According to him, it is difficult to operate a clinic when government is not providing some kind subsidy to help its smooth operation. He noted that if government and its international partners within the health sector provide assistance to private clinics in communities across the country it will go a long way in enhancing the health status of the people.

Dr. Boakai underscored that a healthy people build a vibrant nation, and Liberia cannot be an exception when it comes to prioritizing the health needs of the people.

Meanwhile, the Officer-In-Charge of PHMC’s Annex, Edith S. Kotio, said providing health service to the Liberian people should be prioritized at health facilities around the nation. Kotio stated that health providers are also humanitarians who are concerned about the health condition of the people in the community.

She emphasized that donating medical equipment and medication will help strengthen the operation of community clinics for more effective treatment of patients.

She maintained that the Ministry of Health under the Unity Party-led government will begin to consider providing assistance to the Peace Home Medical Clinic to strengthen the health system in Liberia.

She expressed thanks and appreciation to the Concerned Journalists Association of Liberia for recognizing the work of the clinic over the years in its providing quality health services to the Liberian people.
