The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency George Manneh Weah, has congratulated the president, government and people of France on the auspicious occasion marking the observance of the National Day or the Bastille Day of that country, July 14, 2022.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, President Weah extended sincere best wishes to his French counterpart, His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, and through him to the government and people of the Republic of France on behalf of the government and people of Liberia and in his own name.

President Weah said as France celebrates this historic event in the midst of global challenges as a result of the war in Ukraine, Liberia looks forward to closely working with the French government to help in resolving this conflict through diplomacy.

President Weah recalled French’s enormous contributions to Liberia, reiterating that under his administration the longstanding relations between France and Liberia are very cordial, and they are grateful to the French people for their generous support to the government and people of Liberia in empowering Liberians in agriculture, roads connection, sports and vocational educational.

The Liberian Leader further observed that it is in this spirit that the two countries are exploring new vistas of economic cooperation, especially in small and medium scale industries to further expand the partnership of both countries.

President Weah prayed that the bilateral cooperation subsisting between the both countries will continue to grow from strength to strength for the benefit of the mutual interest in the fields of health, science and technology.
