President George Weah is expected to dedicate the PHP Recreational Park, officially known as the PHP Unity Sports Park, this Saturday, December 23, 2023; Cynthia Quinisier reports.

This disclosure was made by Presidential Minister without Portfolio, Trokon Kpui, at the Center for the Exchange of Intellectual Opinions (CEIO) and on Ok Conversation Monday, December 18, 2023.

This facility is expected to provide the citizens of Monrovia, as well as those from other parts of Liberia, with a modern, multi-purpose sports and recreation facility that will contribute to their good health, fitness, and well-being. As a public park, it will be freely accessible and available to anyone and everyone who seeks to use it.

When completed, the multi-million dollars PHP Unity Sports Park will contain a full outdoor gym, a children’s playground, two football fields, two basketball courts, and two volleyball courts, as well as a boardwalk.

The facility also has restaurants, a grandstand, a souvenir shop, and a National Unity Monument. Additionally, the complex includes an administrative building, car parks, and adequate sanitary and security facilities.

The project is sponsored almost entirely by resources provided by the government of the UAE through the Abu Dhabi Fund.
