The President of the National Association of Liberia School Principals (NALSP), Paynesville Educational District #6, Montserrado County 1, Macs Nyahn Meankakeh, has sounded a clarion call to all school principals, proprietors, teachers, and so on, to form a collaboration to fulfill schools’ agenda.

Meankakeh said the function of a school principal encompasses several key responsibilities aimed at ensuring the effective operation of the school and the well-being of students and staff.

He made the statement at the induction ceremony of the National Association of Liberia School Principals (NALSP).

The induction program of the principals association’s leadership brought together principals from various schools in Paynesville City and its environs; likewise teachers, students, well-wishers, and so on. The program was held in the Living In Christ Church at Du-Port Road over the weekend.

In his inaugural speech, President Meankakeh vowed to promote the following in his first year: fostering of collaboration, advocating for equity and enhancing for professional development through unity and determination.

“To achieve these goals, I invite each of you to share your thoughts, ideas, and dreams for this association,” President Meankakeh said in a passionate tone. “Your insights are invaluable, and together we can drive change that resonates throughout our schools and communities.”

He charged his colleagues saying, “As we embark on this journey together, let us maintain our commitment to support one another, to listen, and to learn.” He added that it would foster an atmosphere of trust and collaboration.

“We can navigate the complexities of leadership and education with grace and efficacy,” the president intoned.

Those inducted by Amanda W. Zota, County Education Officer, Montserrado County School System 1, were Macs Nyahn Meankakeh, President, Princess S. Brown, Vice President, Akoi A. Buway, Sr., General Secretary, Sarah G. Bondo, Treasurer, and Diana Youlo Sampson, Chaplain.

However, Zota sternly warned the elected officials to be proactive and to perform diligently.
Earlier, Emma H. Nyanfore, Paynesville 6, Montserrado County Schol System 1, said that the principals association will help her to carry out the Ministry of Education’s work, adding that she called on volunteers to come on board to work together and promote education agenda.

In the same manner, the keynote speaker, Benjamin Wheyee, urged the leaders of the principals’ association to be transparent, committed, and work in unity. He then pledged L$10,000 as his initial contribution to the association. He also pledged his organization’s support to the principals, among others.

In conclusion, President Meankakeh said, “Let us be a beacon of hope and a source of strength for our schools. Let us remind ourselves that leadership is not just a position; it is a profound responsibility—a journey of service.”
