The People Uniting for Peace in Liberia (PUFPIL), a non-profit and non-government organization, is commending the Liberian government for maintaining the peace in the country, as Liberia joins the rest of the world on September 21, 2022 to celebrate the International Day of Peace.

Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on September 21. The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire.

This year the day is being observed under the theme, “End Racism. Build Peace”.

In her statement on the observance of the International Day of Peace, PUFPIL boss, Atty. Assatu Bah-Kenneth, said, “We want everyone to know that, as Liberians, we all have a part to play in the maintenance of the peace that we all are enjoying today.”

Bah-Kenneth frowned on groups and individuals who are bent on engaging in acts that tend to disturb the peace that Liberians are enjoying, and called on them to rethink their decision because there is no vacancy or accommodation for anti-peace activities.

She used the occasion to congratulate the Liberian government and its partners, and urged them to continue doing all they can to maintain the peace in Liberia.
