Sabah Jomah, Representative Aspirant, District #7, Montserrado County
SHARE

The usual meetings of political gurus with their supporters and sympathizers, coined “acquaintance visit”, was recently embarked upon by the formidable aspirant of district #7, Montserrado County, Sabah Jomah, when she met with marketers of Newport Street and residents behind the surroundings of the “embassy”, located  between Lynch and Johnson streets in Monrovia.

Introducing Aspirant Jomah and her delegation to the enthusiastic supporters, which was backed by traditional drummers, the Chairman of Team Sabah Jomah, Jamine Zinnah, told the crowd that Jomah was in their community for acquaintance and to spread the awareness message for them to register for the forthcoming general and presidential elections.

Addressing the jubilant supporters, Aspirant Jomah said meeting with them would enable her to know and understand the issues affecting them. According to her, a bag of rice is not their priority, and her name, Sabah, rings a bell.

Moreover, she said all of them present at the acquaintance meeting would tell one another whom she is to them. 2023, she added, will be easier as not “all” will lead but instead one who delivers, as she is doing for the residents of that community. This statement was inter-spiced by the battle cry, “You have Sabah, She will not forget you, and for sure she will not forget you”. Her ideology, she said, is that she is not forced to be a representative of district #7, she only wants to help the needy.

Aspirant Jomah however admitted that she is not able to help all at the same time; that is why she wants to ascend to a level of the Representative in district #7.  Sabah Jomah blamed voters who received as little as US$5 to vote for someone and then suffer for six years.

Revolution, to her, sometimes needs sacrifices. District #7, to her, is the richest as compared to others, so they should “shine their eyes” to register and make an impact in the forthcoming general and presidential elections.

According to her the voters in the hinterland enjoys even more than they do.

She disclosed that the district receives US$90,000 as district development funds, but asked where are the tangible projects reflecting the funds because there are already major infrastructures such as banking institutions, the Finance Ministry, paved streets, among others in the district.

Ultimately, she reminded them that any time they vote is like a contract agreement between them and the honorable; therefore, she then appealed to them to proceed to St. Samuels High School on Center Street to register at the appropriate time, as her visit is just an acquaintance one until the time for campaign according to NEC.

It can be recalled that Aspirant Sabah Jomah and delegates visited the Newport Street market where she promised to build a warehouse for the marketers.

Aspirant Jomah was one of the tough contesters for district #7 representative bid during the 2017 general and presidential elections as an independent candidate.
