Rep. Karfiah Breaks Ground for Planting Light Poles
Bong County’s district #5 representative and senatorial aspirant, Edward Karfiah, has broken ground for the planting of light poles and the subsequent electrification of over fifty thousand households across Gbarnga.
The initiative is done through the famous Jungle Energy Power, the electrical body that is responsible for the distribution of energy to households in the central part of Liberia with support from the district #5 lawmaker.
Speaking at the start of the exercise, the lawmaker asserted that the initiative is part of efforts to lighten the homes of citizens who cannot afford electricity in their respective homes.
He further stated that electricity is a major component of the security sector, and so the need to provide such an assistance for the people of Bong County cannot be underestimated.
According to him, the new transformer, including light poles, as part of efforts to jumpstart the Project in Chief Compound Community-One. He said the project is in the tone of little over US$150,000.
For their part, community leaders and residents applauded the Bong County lawmaker for the bold step taken, noting that the initiative will help restore security to their communities.
They vowed to canvas for him across the nooks and crannies of the county in order to ensure his victory in the 2023 Bong County senatorial election. Representative Edward is among several Bong aspirants seeking election for the senatorial post in 2023.
The occasion was graced by Bong County’s district two Representative, James M. Kolleh , and former electoral districts 1 & 3 lawmakers, Representative George Mulbah and Representative Tokpah J. Mulbah, who cautioned the citizens to elect someone who has the requisite experience come October 2023 for the improvement of the county.
