Rep. Samah Wants GoL’s Quick Intervention In NTA Saga
Montserrado County’s electoral district #12 Representative, George B. Samah, recently at his Capitol Building office expressed concern about the National Transit Authority’s on-going unrest between the Managing Director and the employees, who recently agitated in demand of their four months’ salary due them.
The Montserrado County lawmaker added that he is concerned about the NTA problem because it is within his district that the institution operates.
Representative Samah informed newsmen that, because of this, his office has sent a written communication to the Managing Director, Harbie McCulay, requesting to hold a meeting with him in relation to the situation taking place at the NTA between the management and employees.
The Montserrado County lawmaker indicated that the situation at the NTA is serious and needs the quick intervention of the government.
It can be recalled that recently employees of the National Transit Authority (NTA) staged a strike action on the compound of the entity, calling on President Weah to dismiss their boss, Harbie McCulay, for acts of corruption.
In a related development, the Montserrado County lawmaker has embarked on several educational projects within his district.
According to him, his office is planning to start a project at the special project school in his district very soon.
Representative Samah added that his office is concerned about the education of children in the district. He reminded Liberians that education is the bedrock of growth and development of any nation.
He stated that he is passionate about education; this is why he is paying much attention to education and health in the district.
In a related development, the lawmaker has voiced that come 2023 he will be re-contesting for the district’s seat at the National Legislature.
