The National Elections Commission (NEC) on Monday, August 14, 2023, announced the beginning of the process for the replacement of lost or damaged voter registration cards at the nineteen (19) magisterial offices of the commission across the country.
In a press release, the NEC disclosed that the replacement exercise runs from Monday, August 14, 2023 to Saturday, August 19, 2023.
According to the NEC, anyone who is a 2023 registered voter but has lost or damaged his or her biometric voter registration card will have to appear at the magisterial office of the county where he or she registered to be confirmed in the system.
If confirmed, the NEC said, the person will be issued a replacement bill to pay US$5 into government’s revenue, which is to be paid to the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA).
The NEC release added, “Upon paying the amount, you are to return to the same magisterial office to have a new voter card containing your existing details issued to you.”
