As the Unity Party government strives to develop the country under President Joseph Nyumah Boakai, Grand Gedeh County Senator, Zoe Emmanuel Pennue, has testified of the good works of the government in Grand Gedeh County.

According to Senator Pennue, more than 30 years traveling from Monrovia to Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County, has been difficult during the rainy season time, but in 2025, from April to October, the road leading to Zwedru has been pliable for the first time in the rainy season.

Senator Pennue made the disclosure Thursday in the plenary of the Liberian Senate at the Capitol Building in Monrovia.

He stated that good roads across the country will foster national development, and as a result the prices of basic commodities, such as rice and gasoline, significantly reduce.

Senator Penmue underscored that the health and education sectors of the county have been improved, as compared to the past six years.

He maintained that during the Unity Party-led government of former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, and now President Boakai, the county has continued to benefit from basic social services.

According to him, if the “rescue government” is working in the interest of the people, it is good for Liberians from all walks of life to acknowledge the developments that are going on across the country.    Senator Pennue asserted that as the dry season approaches, the road that leads to Grand Gedeh County will be paved, and this will speed up the development transformation of the county, noting that road brings development to any society, and Liberia is no exception.
