Residents of Konja Town, Garwula District, Grand Cape Mount County have paid tribute to the Senwah Foundation (SF) for the construction of a new, additional school building as well as the rehabilitation of the old school building with teacher annex and a reading room. The annex and reading room, with good toilet facilities, are for students and teachers for the common growth of students and administration.

The Chief of Konja Town, Varney Goe, Chairlady, Asattu Johnson, Youth Chair Momo Darkel, the Principal of the school, Laminu Alex Wise, and Morris Johnson Den, Elder, acknowledged that the construction and rehabilitation process carried out by Senwah Foundation has reawaken the learning spirit of their children, and they assured the foundation’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Jassie Senwah Abasy, and Mohammed T. Jeneka, the foundation’s Coordinator, that they will work hand in hand with members of the school’s administration for the common growth of the Konja Town Public School and its students.

Chief Goe, who spoke on behalf of the town people, voiced that they as elders and citizens of Konja Town and its surrounding towns will forever remember the Senwah Foundation CEO and officials of the foundation for their kindness and generosity toward their town people because the foundation did not only construct and rehabilitate the town school buildings; they also provided good sitting capacities for their children, which include chairs, tables and educational equipment for the teachers and students.

Chief Goe said, “We as citizens of this town will forever remember Mrs. Abasy and the Senwah Foundation for the construction and rehabilitation of modern school buildings in our town with good sitting capacities and educational equipment for our school administrators and students because none of the foundation’s members are from this town, but after careful research within and around the Garwula District our town was chosen to benefit from the foundation’s funds, and we are very happy for the completion of the project in our town.”

The CEO and founder of SF Abasy revealed that her foundation was established in 2013 as a commitment for memory of her late father T. Albert Senwah and her late aunt, Jassie O. Senwah, because they were committed to education, committed to giving back and committed to helping the people of Liberia before their untimely demise.

Abasy said, “We as family members got together to give back to Liberia and we started here in Cape Mount County where we renovated schools, we provided school equipment, we sponsored teachers to complete their teacher college training and we had been given helping hand to towns and communities and not only in Grand Cape Mount County but other part of Liberia for over a decade now. We helped children with children toys. Also, we have worked with other institutions in Montserrado County.”

She paid homage to citizens of Konja Town for the jubilant manner in which they got together and worked hand in hand with employees of the organization while carrying out the construction and rehabilitation of the their town school buildings, and clarified that US$15,000 was spent for the construction that was carried out by her foundation in Konja Town. She added that her foundation feeds the town people that worked along with the engineers that carried out the construction.

Abasy extended thanks and appreciation to her foundation’s Coordinator, Mohammed T. Jeneka, Board Chairman, Decon Jah Fahnbulleh, and Co-Chairman, Sesay T. Johnson, for a job well done, and described them as very diligent people whom she believes will keep on their good work for the common growth of their foundation.
