Supporters of Dr. Bhofal Chambers, who was a candidate of Pleebo, Sodoken district, are calling for a re-run of the election in that district.

According to the supporters of the Speaker, who is the incumbent lawmaker of the district, the election was held under duress, at which time there was a traditional conspiracy that brought out the “country devil” to disrupt the process.

The citizens made the statement in an interview with the Hot Pepper recently. They said it was absolutely wrong for a traditional intervention in such an election. They called on every citizen within the Pleebo, Sodoken District to reject the results as it is alleged to be fraudulent and misguided.

According to a leaked audio in the possession of the Hot Pepper, the citizens of Pleebo Sodoken District said this was miscalculated by some traditional people who did not want Speaker Chambers to win the election, and therefore they want the National Election Commission (NEC) to have a re-run.

Information reveals that over five boxes of ballots papers were allegedly seized by the “county devil” within Chambers’ stronghold, Pleebo Sodoken District, and allegedly tempered with by traditional matters.

“Dr. Chambers has been a very good man and he is worth maintaining the speakership. Such conspiracy is wrong and dubious. The National Elections Commission and the court must look into the matter for proper investigation,” the residents said.

It can be recalled that Dr. Bhofal Chambers, who is the sitting Representative of the Pleebo Sodoken, district #2 and also the Speaker of the 54th National Legislature, was involved with a contestation with Anthony Williams and several other candidates when the National Elections Commission announced Anthony Williams as the winner, which has been vehemently rejected by his followers.

In a related development, it has been reliably learned that hearing in the matters commences at the National Election Commission (NEC) tomorrow, and all sides are expected to be present.
