The Special Presidential Project Coordinating Committee (SPPCC) has successfully concluded a two-week Capstone Training designed to strengthen operational efficiency, leadership capacity, and interdepartmental coordination across its nationwide hubs.

The training, held from April 1 to April 9, 2026, at the Committee’s headquarters in Mamba Point, Monrovia, brought together staff from key operational units to enhance technical knowledge, improve communication systems, and reinforce institutional discipline. The program forms part of the Committee’s broader effort to build a highly skilled workforce capable of supporting national development initiatives.

Throughout the duration of the training, participants engaged in practical simulations, group exercises, and scenario-based learning sessions aimed at improving real-time decision-making and operational readiness. The structured sessions focused on strengthening teamwork, improving accountability, and reinforcing safety practices key pillars that support the Committee’s mission to deliver sustainable development outcomes nationwide.

The Capstone Training brought together specialists from diverse departments working toward a unified operational mission. Participants represented core divisions, including administration, human resources and operations, communications, fleet management, environmental safety, and the technical team. These departments play vital roles in ensuring smooth documentation processes, workforce management, equipment supervision, compliance monitoring, and mechanical support for field operations.

The administration unit focused on strengthening documentation systems, scheduling processes, and internal communication procedures. Meanwhile, human resources and operations personnel enhanced their capacity to manage workforce coordination and enforce operational procedures across the Committee’s 19 hubs operating within Liberia’s 15 counties.

Participants from the communications department received specialized instruction on media engagement strategies, public information dissemination, crisis communication, and effective project documentation. Similarly, fleet management personnel strengthened their knowledge in equipment supervision, maintenance planning, asset allocation, and nationwide tracking of operational resources.

Environmental safety officers focus on reinforcing environmental compliance standards, workplace safety protocols, and preventive safety measures necessary to maintain safe working environments. At the same time, the technical team enhanced its mechanical engineering capacity to support earthmoving equipment and ensure the reliability of machinery used in field operations.

The capstone training was facilitated by a team of experienced professionals with specialized expertise across multiple disciplines. Facilitators included Caroline Bowah, Community Development Expert; Dr. Abdoulaye W. Dukule, a U.S.-based Communications Specialist; and Yormie, Special Major Commander and Fleet Management and Logistics Expert.

Their combined knowledge provided participants with practical insights and specialized instruction, enabling staff to effectively manage complex operational challenges and strengthen collaboration across departments. The facilitators emphasized professionalism, leadership discipline, and problem-solving strategies essential to maintaining operational excellence.

Participants demonstrated measurable improvements in their capacity to manage operational scenarios, respond to emergency situations, and implement project strategies efficiently. The training has produced a highly motivated and skilled workforce prepared to deploy enhanced capabilities across Liberia’s operational hubs in support of national development programs.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Executive Chair of the Committee, Brownie J. Samukai, commended staff for their discipline, dedication, and unwavering commitment to service throughout the training period. He encouraged participants to apply the knowledge gained to strengthen teamwork and maintain high standards of professionalism in all operational activities.

The Executive Chair noted that the successful completion of the Capstone Training represents a significant milestone in strengthening the committee’s institutional capacity. He emphasized that the investment in training reflects the committee’s commitment to building a resilient workforce capable of delivering coordinated and impactful development projects nationwide.

This capstone training marks an important step toward advancing national readiness and enhancing operational efficiency within the committee’s structure. With a newly trained workforce and strengthened coordination systems, the Special Presidential Project Coordinating Committee (SPPCC) is well positioned to support sustainable development initiatives and improve service delivery across Liberia.

The committee said they remain steadfast in its commitment to professionalism, service, and nation-building, reaffirming its dedication to advancing Liberia’s infrastructure and development agenda through effective coordination, skilled personnel, and strong institutional leadership.
