President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has expressed optimism about Liberia’s future, declaring that divine intervention remains evident in the nation’s progress.

Speaking at the 2026 National Fast and Prayer Day held at the Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary on April 10, 2026, the President stated with conviction, “God will bless this nation, I have no doubt,” emphasizing that on-going developments across the country reflect signs of God’s continued presence.

The Liberian leader noted that the country’s progress is not by human effort alone but through sustained prayer and spiritual renewal. “I believe God is still here for this nation,” President Boakai said, adding that Liberia is experiencing a period of revival as a result of collective faith and devotion.

President Boakai clarified that he does not claim personal credit for the nation’s achievements, attributing all progress to God’s grace and intervention. He highlighted that the strides made by the country could not have been realized without divine guidance and the prayers of its people.

The President further urged Liberians to remain steadfast in seeking God’s direction to sustain national gains. He emphasized that prayer is not reserved for a select few but is the responsibility of all who believe. “God didn’t select special people to pray; it is the hearts of those who believe that He answers,” he noted, stressing that nothing is impossible with God.

Reflecting on the significance of faith, President Boakai reminded the congregation that God remains responsive to sincere prayers, and expressed his personal trust in God as unshakable.

He extended appreciation to the leadership of the church for organizing the program and highlighted the importance of the Church as a vital pillar in the nation’s development.

The Liberian Chief Executive observed that such gatherings demonstrate the enduring role of faith-based institutions in shaping the moral and spiritual fabric of the country.

The President concluded by noting that the collective act of fasting and prayer sends a strong message about the central role of faith in Liberia’s continued growth and unity.
