SRC Management has taken a proactive step to alleviate transportation challenges faced by students at the Salala Rubber Corporation, Weala, Margibi County. An additional seventy-seated brand-new bus has been procured and provided to serve the transportation needs of students within the company’s school system.

Jallah Mensah, the Relationship and Administration Consultant at SRC, confirmed this development, emphasizing the company’s commitment to ensuring smooth transportation for students between their homes and schools. He mentioned that a seventy-seated bus was acquired in the recent past, but due to on-going transportation constraints management went further to procure another bus to better address the student’s needs.

While acknowledging financial challenges, Mensah highlighted the importance of the bus for the smooth functioning of the school and how SRC management recognizes this and prioritizes such needs related to the education of the upcoming generation. The bus serves to eliminate risks associated with bike transportation, especially considering the distance and adverse weather conditions.

Maintenance and operation of the bus are solely managed by the company, including providing a driver and covering all maintenance costs. This commitment is part of the services offered by the company to support the education of workers’ children under its school system.

Mensah clarified that the provision of the bus is a permanent arrangement, not just a temporary solution, as the company has historically rented buses for student transportation. He expressed optimism that the students appreciate and support the initiative, as it makes transportation more accessible and hassle-free for them.

Meanwhile, Mensah is calling on students to cooperate with the assigned bus driver and the security personnel by treating them respectfully with a demonstrated commitment to the safety and protection of this property with a sense of ownership, as they play an important role in ensuring a safe and secure transportation experience for all students.
