St. Matthew United Methodist Church, Logan Town, through its Men Unit, is expected to launch a US$2,000 rally project for the refurbishment of the internal structure of the church, particularly the clergyman and high-profile visiting guest seating capacity, with a modern aluminum furniture design.

Making the disclosure to the Hot Pepper in an interview Tuesday June 21, 2022, the President of the St. Matthew United Methodist Church Men Unit, Victor Lincoln, revealed that they will officially launch the project, the redesigning of the internal structure of the church, on July 10, 2022 in order to give the church a decent and modern view.

According to him, the entire woolly furniture in the church has gotten rotten, leaving it seriously damaged, thereby causing dirt and embarrassment for the church whenever they have program and visiting guests.

“When you enter in the church, all that wood fortunate at the altar has all damaged, and so we want to change it to aluminum glasses because it is not decent like that. My son, we are appealing for all hands to be on deck as we embark on this project for the refurbishment of the church’s internal woody structure, which has been damaged badly. This is embarrassing because the wood has gotten old and produces dirt and insects in the church during service hour. The most frustrating thing about it is that, when we are in service we see those insects flying all around and members are sometimes seen running after them to kill them, and so it’s not good like that,” Lincoln pointed out.

He called on the entire membership of the church and partners to work with the Men Unit in order to ensure that the project, when launched, achieves it aim and objective. He stated that it is disgusting that their homes would be clean and unique but the house of God, where they go to worship and get blessing, does not look good.

“We are calling on everyone to please stop the divisive politics in the church because this will not help us, rather destroy us and slow progress and growth in the church. and so let us all put aside our differences and come together and build the house of God. However, I believe that no service in the Lord is in vain, and so the Lord will work for us,” Lincoln urged.

Meanwhile, the church on Sunday honored John N. Davies as Father of the Year, Jestino Jackson as special Brother, Soko S. Sirleaf Special Brother, and Marcus Dantee as Outstanding Personality of the Year 2022/2023.

According to the Men Unit’s President, the decision was reached to honor those personalities after the entire men’s leadership voted upon the names. They had spiritual consultation and decided to give the honoree their flowers while they are alive.
