UL Suspends All Academic Activities
The Administration of the University of Liberia (UL) has, with immediate effect, suspended all registration activities preceding the commencement of classes for the 2nd Semester Academic Year 2021 until further notice.
According to the UL revised academic calendar, student registration for the 2nd semester commenced on June 14, 2021, while classes were scheduled to begin on June 28, 2021.
At the same time, the UL Administration has also suspended registration for the 2nd Entrance and Placement Exam for undergraduate applicants as well as the Aptitude Test for applicants for the graduate and professional schools.
Registration for the 2nd Entrance Exam and Aptitude Test commenced on June 15, 2021.
Additionally, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all employees of the UL, in view of the rise in new Covid-19 infections, the UL Administration has limited personnel attendance on all campuses to chairpersons and above for personnel assigned in its academic units, as well as to administrative directors and above for personnel assigned in administrative units.
The above decisions were reached at an emergency called UL Cabinet meeting held on Saturday, June 19, 2021, and promised to commence immediate consultations with all key stakeholders of the University, including the UL Faculty Association (ULFA), the UL Staff Association (ULSA) and the UL Student Union (ULSU) toward taking practical steps to curtail the spread of the Covid-19 infections as well as the successful conduct of the 2nd Semester.
Further, the UL Administration advised all employees to observe strict adherence to the health protocols instituted by the Ministry of Health and the Government of Liberia (GOL).
