As US President, John F. Kennedy, once said, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country”, so it is with the newly elected leadership of the United Bassa Organizations in the Americas (UNIBOA).

Abraham Williams, President of UNIBOA, has vowed that his leadership will implement major programs and projects aimed at improving the wellbeing of the Bassa people in Liberia.

According to him, his leadership was unanimously voted upon by members of UNIBOA on the basis of change.

Commenting on his leadership platform, Williams noted that a lot of good plans have been designed by his leadership to transform the Bassa people in Liberia.

He said this year’s UNIBOA leadership will increase the number of beneficiaries of its scholarship program to ensure workforce development for more Bassa students, stating that his administration will work with key stakeholders to identify and implement meaningful projects in the four Bassa counties.

Williams revealed that a plan is underway to secure a group life insurance for Uniboa members and their family in the US and push for a permanent solution to the temporary protective status, known as TPS under his immigration plan. He further disclosed the construction of hand pumps, latrines, clinics among other projects, in Monsterrado, Grand Bassa, Rivercess and Marigbi counties—the four Bassa-speaking counties in Liberia as part of his long-term goals.

He said his leadership will work with the four counties’ legislative caucuses to ensure that the needs of the Bassa people are addressed.

The UNIBOA President noted that his leadership will work with other international organizations in providing the necessary solutions to issues that matter to the four Bassa-speaking counties.

He mentioned that his leadership will have zero tolerance on corruption among its code of officers.

Williams, who served UNIBOA Chapter in Kentucky, USA, as its first president, served two tenures due to his commitment to serving his people.
