The Liberian presidency is said to be making effort toward the appointment of a new Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia after the demise of His Honor Joseph Nagbe in Ghana recently following a protracted illness.

His demise created a vacuum in which the Liberian leader is contemplating nominating a new Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. With this vacuum being created in that branch of government, several names of renowned Liberian lawyers have been highlighted in the public space, with such names like Cllr. John Lafayette Griggs, a highly respected Liberian of those been looked at as a man best suited for the prestigious position.

Cllr. Griggs is a 2012 product of the Louise Arthur Grimes School of Law, University of Liberia, and also a candidate of masters in international relations at the IBB Graduate School, and a holder of a B.A. (Cum Laude) in Criminal Justice Administration from the A.M. E. Zion University. He also holds another B.A. (distinction) in political science from the University of Liberia, and has served several magisterial courts as Stipendiary Magistrate.

Many who spoke to reporters and described as admirers of the young lawyer believe that, if nominated by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai to serve as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia, he will serve with professionalism at the will of the Liberian people.
