Yekeh Wants Grigsby Summoned Over Weah’s Humiliation At RIA
The Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Sylvester Grigsby, is expected to appear on Tuesday to state the cause of the disrespect and humiliation to former President George M. Weah Sr. stopping him from using the RIA’s VIP Lounge when he returned from vacation in Europe. Plenary’s decision was triggered by a communication from Montserrado County’s electoral district #10 Representative, Yekeh Kolubah.
Representative Kolubah stated in his communication that the incident, which occurred in February at the RobertsInternational Airport where former President Weah was blocked from using the VIP Lounge at the airport was disrespectful and requires plenary’s quick action to serve as deterrence.
“No matter the situation, former President Weah served our country for six unbroken years as President and must be given the most needed respect,” Kolubah asserted.
According to the Montserrado County lawmaker, leadership is time, which means other people were in these positions that are being occupied today, and one day the incumbents, too, will not be there; therefore, the attitude of respecting people in authority and disrespecting those who are not in authority even though they once served the country needs to stop.
“Mr. Speaker these attitudes have created room for corruption in the public sector because it makes people who are in authority to enrich themselves so as to maintain their respect when they leave power to do so,” Representative Kolubah communication stated.
