Youth Activist, Abdurahman Fofana

Youth Activist and Founder of the Liberian Youth Foundation, Abdurahman Fofana, wants Liberians at home and abroad to avoid politicians. According to Fofana, Liberia is suffering from backwardness because of politicians.

He said it is time for Liberians to begin thinking about what impact each one can make to the growth and development of Liberia, rather than following one group of people which continue to destroy the heritage of Liberia for political gain. His statement was made recently at the program making the eighth anniversary of the foundation. Fofana said politicians have in no way helped Liberia since 1847; rather, they continue to harm Liberia with their divisive spirit.

The foundation boss said, because of politicians too much hate is among Liberians, which he indicated is wrong for the country’s growth and development. He said politicians have failed Liberia, adding that only with unity and love for each other can Liberia arrive like other nations of the world. He told the crowd that politicians cannot help Liberia; only focused-minded Liberians with determination can transform Liberia into a developed country.

Fofana used the ceremony to reaffirmed his organization’s commitment in supporting the National Legislature in making illicit drug trafficking a non-billable offense in Liberia, as well as recommending the construction of rehabilitation centers for what he called “disadvantaged youth” in Liberia

He spoke on a wide range of issues confronting Liberia, but ended by calling on the Government of Liberia (GOL) to introduce entrepreneurship and technical vocational skills for high schools in Liberia.
