Ahead of the 2023 general and presidential elections in Liberia, a youth leader of electoral district #9, Nimba County, Livingstone Garziah, has endorsed the re-election bid of Representative Johnson Gwaikolo.

Reading his statement of endorsement to newsmen, Garziah said his decision to endorse the re-election of Representative Gwaikolo is based on his many achievements and developmental agenda since his ascendancy as representative of the district in 2018.

Garziah expressed strong belief that the re-election of Representative Gwaikolo is in the best interest of the district, as this will allow him to continue the development projects he has initiated throughout the district.

   D. Livingston Garziah is a staunch youth leader and activates, not only in Nimba’s district #9, but in Nimba County at large.

Livingston was among many Nimba youth leaders from various universities back in 2014 who led advocacy against ArcelorMittal Liberia for the recruitment and employment of qualified Nimba youths into the world-giant steel company.

Providing reasons why Gwaikolo should be re-elected, Garziah stated that Gwaikolo is a well-respected leader by his colleagues in the House of Representatives, and his logical contributions to national issues that border around the growth and development of his county and country.

Garziah termed the visitation of President Weah to Gbi-Doru as historic and first of its kind for the people of district #9.

The youthful politician and advocate mentioned that the subsequent opening of the farm in Geyah, Gbi-Doru, by President George Manneh Weah under the leadership of Representative Gwaikolo speaks volumes of the adequate and responsible representation he is providing for the people at the National Legislature.

He claimed that Representative Gwaikolo has demonstrated infrastructural and capacity development, and his record in the district is testimony of his passion for improving the livelihood of citizens of the district.

The youthful advocate asserted that the provision of ferries in Senin Trapa and at the Blangland crossing point to create an easier and smooth movement of citizens, the construction of a radio station and the district office in Zekepa, the rehabilitation of roads from Gahnwee to Zekepa, Gehyee Duogarpa and Blangland Crossing Point are all proves of Representative Gwaikolo’s developmental drive.

“Hon. Gwaikolo has constructed major bridges along Kwendin to Glahn and the Gwen bridge, town halls in Zarwulugbo and Freeman towns, and construction of market halls and several schools and clinics throughout the district. They make him worthy of his re-election,” Garziah maintained.

The youth opinion leader of district #9 then added that Representative Gwaikolo has also made medical services accessible to the people of Gbi-Doru, Zekepa, and Yarwuo Menslonon through the construction of clinics and provision of medical supplies, including COVID-19 materials and rice to maintain health workers.

“This distinguished lawmaker also made several donations to the district, including hundreds of school desks, chairs and tables; plastic chairs for churches, and bundles of zinc and cement for different infrastructural projects in the district,” Garziah continued.

Garziah maintained that Representative Gwaikolo has shown love and passion for education, and is an embodiment of a true educator: he runs a progressive and sustainable scholarship program for underprivileged students and young people of the district at both the secondary and tertiary levels.

He disclosed that Representative Johnson Gwaikolo is well-positioned to lobby with responsible ministries and agencies, as well as his colleagues for the allocation of development funds in the national budget for electoral district #9, Nimba County, and has shown unparalleled leadership by establishing and maintaining a calm and harmonious working relationship with the staff of the House of Representatives since his ascendancy as Chair on Rules, Order & Administration at the lower House.

“Hon. Gwaikolo has advocated that companies and subsidiaries operating in Nimba County hire Liberians and grant managerial positions to members of his district and Nimba at large,” Garziah disclosed.

The young stakeholder of electoral district #9 underscored that he is of the strongest conviction that, if re-elected as the district’s Representative in 2023, Representative Johnson Gwaikolo will work to improve on the many developmental initiatives he has undertaken and will lobby for an increment in budgetary support for basic social services to the people.
