China Chongqing International Construction Corporation (CICO), internationally acclaimed for its specialized engineering performance in road network building and bridge construction, has accelerated work on the 6.1 kilometer road project covering ELWA’s intersection through Redlight to Coca Cola Factory.
In a press release issued in Monrovia recently, the company said flagmen and other safety officers are been strategically posted along the road corridor to avoid traffic congestion and also to keep vehicles and road users from plying the road while construction work goes on.
At the moment, project engineers and safety officers each day conduct routine inspections on key related issues, while taking appropriate measures with the objective of ensuring that the company remains focused on delivering quality service to the people of Liberia.
This is being done through CICO’s professional expertise, which has been demonstrated over the last few years through its commitment to the reconstruction of postwar Liberia.
The group has remained focused on its development program for Liberia and continues to develop a reputation of consistent delivery, which continues to make it second to none in Liberia.
CICO has assured the Government of Liberia (GOL), through the Ministry of Public Works, that the 6.1 kilometer road project covering ELWA’s intersection through Redlight to Coca Cola Factory will be completed in line with all specifications spelled out in the contract agreement, which was signed between CICO and the Government of Liberia (GOL).
CICO says it considers health, safety and environmental management plan as a working tool for the implementation of all of its project, and is being made possible by the company’s health and safety team comprising local and international staffers.
Yang Zetao, General Manager, said CICO tremendous contributions to road connectivity and other infrastructure development activities in the country will further cement the company’s good relationship with the government and people of Liberia. He emphasized also that, in Liberia, roads constitute the most important component of the transport infrastructure network, and thus represent an important aspect to promote inclusive development and economic activities.
Yang said CICO continues to make meaningful impact on the lives of the Liberian people through the construction of roads and bridges since the company began its operation in Liberia in 2008. He also mentioned that the road project will provide short-term work opportunity for local residents, including skilled and unskilled workers, as a means of generating income for their families.
