The Pastor of the Third Providence Baptist Church, Rev. S.E. Emmanuel Ward, is pleading with the National Elections Commission (NEC) to properly manage the biometric system that is about to be introduced in the nation’s electoral system. He said the introduction of the biometric system is a giant step toward technological improvement, but must be managed in a way that the peace the nation enjoys will be maintained.

Rev. Ward warned that any attempt to carelessly manage the biometric system during the 2023 general and presidential elections could take Liberia back to the dark days.

The Baptist preacher called on the NEC to refrain from vices that have the potential to discredit the 2023 election results, emphasizing that the results should be accurate, credible and meets international standard.

Rev. Ward made the statement on Sunday at his church in Logan Town when he delivered his regular worship sermon on the theme, “In the Fullness of Time”, Micah 7:8 and Galatians 4:4.

Meanwhile, Rev. Ward has disclosed that the Third Providence Baptist Church has been commended by the Baptist Women Union of West Africa for their participation in the just-ended conference in Liberia.

It can be recalled that the Baptist Women Union of West Africa recently held its 14th conference in Monrovia, which brought together 305 international delegates from the United States of America, Canada and 19 African countries.
