The Executive Director of the Movement with Integrity for National Development (MIND), Sekou D. Sonii, has entreated the people of Montserrado County’s district #12 to give their incumbent Representative, Dr. George Beyan Samah, a second-term mandate for excellently representing their interest at the House of Representatives, playing his role in passing good laws for the country and being cognization of his oversight responsibility over the years.

MIND is a civil society organization involved in advocating for a better society and promoting effective good governance in the public and private sectors.

According to MIND’s Executive Director Sonii, Representative Samah deserves a second term, as his tangibles and record at the House are sufficient to stimulate the consciousness of the electorate to grant him another term—if the residents are in the interest of continued development and good governance.

Executive Director Sonii recounted that, during his first term in office, Representative Samah successfully constructed a research lab in the district for use by students, district residents and Liberians at large, a youth center, a modern football pitch for recreation, and has ensured the district’s annual sitting since his election in 2017.

In terms of human capacity, Sonii stated that Representative Samah has been heavily supporting the student community of the district through the payment of entrance fees of a number of universities and colleges, provision of scholarship and helping them with graduation fees.

In addition to his oversight responsibility, Sonii said Representative Samah has been involved in humanitarian services, impacting the lives of many less fortunate and the disabled, elderly and disadvantaged youth. “Representative Samah does not segregate between Christians and Muslims—he treats everyone with respect,” Sonii stated.

Meanwhile, the Executive Director of the Movement with Integrity for National Development (MIND) has reiterated his call to the residents of district #12, Montserrado County, to ensure that development continues in the district by re-electing Dr. Samah in the October 10, 2023 general and presidential elections. He cautioned them not to be carried away by political rhetoric and “fly-by-night” humanitarians, as their district may be forgotten as soon as the elections are over.
