Superintendent of Soltiamon Christian School System, Pastor St. Solomon Joah

The Superintendent of the Soltiamon Christian School  System has said that nobody should consider the teaching career as a substitute.

According to Pastor St. Solomon Joah, nobody should enter into the field of teaching except they are called by God. He said that the teaching career is an act of developing the minds of individuals for a better tomorrow, which he indicated requires commitment to duty and, as such, the individual should have the passion to teach.

The Solomon Christian School System Superintendent noted that people should not enter the teaching field because of money, but should be passionate to impact the mindset of students. He said teachers should understand the two “Ws” and one “H” in teaching. According to him, the two “Ws” and one “H” are meant for “what to teach”, “when to teach”, and “how to teach”. By this, he pointed out, educational plans are developed for the smooth operation of the academic year.

When asked about the system being operated by Soltiamon, he answered by saying that the secret behind his school’s growth and development is the two “Ws” and one “H” method. He said the only way the unemployment rate can be reduced among university students is for them to learn how to do something that benefits them.

He continued, “Check and see what is demanding in the society.” Superintendent Joah said his school believes in the Bible, because the Bible is an organized book.

The Superintendent spoke on a wide range of issues confronting the educational sector of Liberia, but ended by calling on school owners in the country to monitor teachers’ lessons daily to make sure that teachers are in compliance with the Ministry of Education’s teaching plan. He said that is the only means of fighting the “mess” spoken about the education system.
