The Chief Executive Officer of the Bukonjadeh Group of Companies says he wants the Liberian government through the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) to disclose the names of those arrested in the US$19.2 million Cocaine trafficking at the Roberts International Airport (RIA).

Elton Johns stated that the delay in disclosing the names of those arrested for more than 48 hours poses a threat to the fight against illicit drugs in the country.

Johns made the assertion over the weekend in Monrovia as the Interim Management Team of the LDEA   has not yet disclosed names of those involved in trafficking the US$19 million worth of drugs.

According to him, illicit drugs are destroying the youthful population of Liberia and government officials want to compromise the future of Liberian children in the interest of friendship and partisanship.

He said the government should not prioritize partisanship and friendship over protecting Liberian children against drug abuse by bringing drug traffickers and dealers to book.

He asserted that Liberia should not be the hub for illicit drug trafficking, and government officials, especially from the LDEA, should stand their ground to protect the younger generation from illicit drugs by doing the right things to combat the menace in the country.

Johns noted that the future of several Liberian children have been destroyed due to government officials compromising illicit drug traffickers and dealers across the nation, which needs to be stopped.

He pointed out that President Joseph Nyuma Boakai promised to rescue the Liberian people from drug abuse, but some of his officials are dealing with illicit drug traffickers and dealers, pinpointing the arrest of the US$19.2 million worth of drugs at the Roberts International Airport and frowning on authorities not disclosing the names of individuals involved with the shipment.

He questioned why the LDEA made an arrest but has allegedly refused to disclose the names of people involved with the shipment to Liberia.
