Min. Kemayah Presents Two Buses, Uniforms To MOFAWA

The Minister Foreign Affairs, Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr., has presented two brand new buses to the President of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Workers Association (MOFAWA), Yah Boayue Yini.

   At a colorful turnover ceremony on Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Kemayah said the donation is part of his administration’s support to the employees through the President of Liberia, Dr. George Manneh Weah, and the taxpayers of Liberia.

   “This is not about me. It is about the workers who are the greatest asset to this ministry, who have made a very strong commitment to work for the Liberian people, this presentation is part of our continuing support to the ministry,” said Minister Kemayah.

   Minister Kemayah, who formally presented the keys of the vehicle to the president of MOFAWA, Yini, asserted that the vehicles will ease the transportation problem facing the workers at the ministry, noting that this will enable the workers to come to job on time.

   Minister Kemayah used the occasion to inform the gathering that uniforms were made available to the Passport Division, the Diplomatic Security Service and the Maintenance Department, to be used by the employees.

   He also reechoed that the Senior Management Team at the ministry will continue to advocate for the employees’ interest.

   Minister Kemayah indicated that the vehicles were made possible by Dr. George Manneh Weah, President of the Republic of Liberia. 

   Receiving the vehicles, MOFAWA President Yini expressed thanks and appreciation on behalf of the workers, and convey MOFAWA’s gratitude to Minister Kemayah and the senior management team of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

    Yini indicated that the donation of vehicles was indeed timely and they will help to address some of their transportation and logistical needs.

   She pledged the employees’ commitment to ensure that the vehicles will be utilized for the intended purpose, and that MOFAWA will put in place appropriate mechanisms to ensure that the vehicles are well maintained.

   Also witnessing the handover were the Deputy Minister for Administration, Thelma E. Duncan-Sawyer; Deputy Minister for Legal Affairs, Cllr. Deweh Gray; members of the Policy Advisor Committee (PAC), among others.

   For her part, Cllr. Gray expressed her delight for such an occasion, and indicated that the gains made thus far for the past one year of the administration of Minister Kemayah at the ministry were remarkable, and that the donation of the vehicles will indeed buttress the ministry efforts.
