The Lord’s Army Ministry International (LAMI) on Sunday, November 21, 2021 accepted the launch of the Orphan Cares Africa Foundation (OCAF) in Liberia. According to the Founder and President of OCAF, Rev. Missionary Francis Saa Dauda, the vision to cater to orphans and widows was revealed to him by God in 2003 after the war in Liberia.

Rev. Dauda stated that the revelation was made clear to him as it is stated in the Holy Bible in James 1:27, “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows  in their affliction and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”

He said, since 2003, helping orphans and widows, as well as providing the basic needs and scholarships for orphans in Pipeline community, Paynesville, have been his passion since the war subsided.

He disclosed that OCAF was officially founded in 2018 to help orphans and widows across Africa, and Liberia is the base to ensure that dignity and respect for orphans and widows are prioritized.

Rev. Dauda maintained that catering to orphans and widows is mandated by God, but which has been neglected by people in many parts of Africa.

He pinpointed that widows and orphans have been marginalized and neglected for so long, and that women and children rights are not upheld in several communities across the nation.

He noted that some community members describe widows as witches instead of helping them, but stated that anybody can become a widow and orphan in life.

Rev. Dauda emphasized that Liberians should seek the blessing of God through providing the basic needs for orphans and widows, such as food, healthcare and scholarship.

Meanwhile, the General Overseer and Founder of the Lord’s Army Ministry International, Rev. Daniel X. Kamara, said supporting orphans and widows will be prioritized in his ministry.

Rev. Kamara noted that the Biblical mandate has been taken for granted by many over the years, but this revelation of OCAF to cater to orphans and widows will be implemented.

He urged members of the church and Liberians in general to understand God’s instruction to help orphans and widows in the communities.

Rev. Kamara indicated that his team at OCAF is responsible to identify orphans and widows between Wroto Town community and Jallah Town community and register them to receive assistance in subsequent time.

He pointed out that the Lord’s Army Ministry International is located between 13th and 14th streets, on the beach side, and hoped that Liberians can support orphans and widows in the country.

OCAF is a non-governmental and non-profit organization intended to help orphans and widows around Africa, and the coordinating executive members of the Lord’s Army Ministry International are Rev. Daniel X. Kamara, Mother Hawa Kamara, Lawrence Y. Mulbah Jr., Oretha Dissan and Mercy Nyumeh.
