AFL, Defense Officials Inspect Renovations At Camps Jones And Grant

On Friday, March 14, 2025, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), Brigadier General Theophilous Anto Dana, led a high-power delegation of military and defense officials on a one-day assessment visit to camps Jones and Grant, Margibi and Nimba counties, respectively, to confirm renovation updates that are provided periodically.

According to an AFL press release, key military infrastructures that were destroyed because of the civil crisis across Liberia are currently undergoing renovation for the possible occupation of members of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL).

“The 21st Engineer Battalion of the Armed Forces of Liberia is currently doing these renovation works on military facilities across the country, and they require regular assessment visits to confirm updates,” the release observed.

The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), accompanied by senior military staff from Headquarters, Armed Forces of Liberia, led the visit. The visit also included representatives from Civil Works and the Ministry of National Defense.

According to the release, the aim of this assessment visit is to know the current state of these facilities and other enablers that will enhance the livelihood of troops that would be deployed at these various barracks; and help the High Command of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) to make informed decisions.
