District #10 Rep. Aspirant Condemns District’s Violence
District#10, Montserrado County, has become an area of electoral violence in recent time, with only six months left in the calendar for the holding of the general elections in Liberia.
Isaac Clay, an aspirant of district #10, Montserrado County, has added his voice to the many voices condemning constant acts of violence taking place in district #10, Montserrado County.
According to him, the international community should not take the violence situation in the district as a joke because it has the propensity to undermine the peace of Liberia.
The district #10 representative-aspirant noted that Liberia is at the crossroad and it requires that all contributes to the transformational process of the country. He said every Liberian needs peace, and gone are those past days when lives were threatened for nothing by other Liberians.
Clay has therefore called on the Government of Liberia (GOL), through the Ministry of Defense, to assign more men of the Armed Forces to protect lives and properties in the district.
He mentioned that during evening time a group with face masks and harmful materials come to harass peaceful citizens and take away their belongings.
“I believe Liberia has graduated from such level of society. Our government really needs to do something urgently to address such living condition,” he stated.
He made the statement during an interview with the Hot Pepper in Monrovia on March 28, 2023.
Clay said he wants district #10 citizens to remain focused as the pending election is key to the district and the country at large. He called on residents of the district not to vote those causing violence among residents of the district.
“District#10 deserve better, and this is the time,” he added.
