The Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Rev. Edwin G. Sherman III, has urged Liberian clergymen not to compromise the Gospel of God.
Rev. Sherman stated that the First Baptist Church under his stewardship will speak truth to the people of Liberia, and not compromise the truth.
The First Baptist Pastor made the statement Sunday at the church edifice in Congo Town when he was honored as the outstanding Pastor of the year 2025/2026 by the Excellent Media Incorporated.
According to him, the church should stand for truthfulness and avoid being put in the pockets of people to compromise the Word of God.
He indicated that the First Baptist Church will be the light in the darkness to rescue people from the darkness with the Biblical truth.
Rev. Sherman underscored that the church should be the place of hope for the people, but it is unfortunate that others are compromising the Gospel for personal gains.
He prayed that God will give clergymen in Liberia the grace and strength to speak the truth without fear or favor to ensure Gospel transformation takes place in the nation.
He warned against compromising the Word of God can undermine the blessings intended to move the growth and development of the people and the country forward.
Rev. Sherman expressed thanks and appreciation to the Excellent Media Incorporated for honoring him, but observed that the honor belongs to the entire membership and leadership of the First Baptist Church, which will not compromise the Word of God but speak the truth to the people.
