Dr. Daniel Cassell storms Voinjama

The Political Leader of the People’s Liberation Party (PLP), Dr. Daniel E. Cassell, on Friday, April 16, 2021 made a triumphal entry into Voinjama, Lofa County, as part of his visitation and mobilization across the country ahead of the 2023 general elections.

   Dr. Cassell, who marched through the principal streets of Voinjama, was warmly received by thousands of supporters, sympathizers, well wishers, elders, youths and motorcyclists at the Immigration checkpoint before entering Voinjama City. Dr. Cassell’s visit to Lofa over the weekend was to meet with his supporters and partisans and induct the student council government of the Shepherdhood Mission School System.

   At the induction ceremony, Dr. Cassell presented 288 copybooks and promised to sponsor the college education of the top five performing students in school. He urged students to remain focused on their education because Liberia needs them in its transformation process.

   While in Voinjama, Dr. Cassell, who is the Founder of the Dr. Cassell Foundation, also launched a scholarship fund-drive at the campus of the Lofa County Community College (LCCC). He pledged L$350,000 as his initial contribution for deserving students across the districts of the county. According to him, best performing students will always be paramount during the selection of beneficiaries. He presented 288 copybooks to students of the Lofa County Community College as part of his contribution toward their education.

   At same time, Dr. Cassell held discussion with a cross-section of motorcyclists at the Kissi Quarter’s intersection. During the discussion, the spokesperson of the motorcyclists in Voinjama, Joe Lahai, expressed gratitude to Dr. Cassell for the construction of a parking lot for the motorcyclists. He moreover described the Political Leader of PLP as a true leader and redeemer, who has indeed come to liberate Liberia.

   The PLP Political Leader also visited the Voinjama Central Mosque, where he donated food items, as part of his contribution during the period of Ramadan. The items donated came from the Dr. Cassell Foundation, a humanitarian organization. He assured Muslims in Lofa of his fullest support, and that they should feel free to call on him anytime necessary.

   In response to the gesture, Imam Alhaji Vamunyan Sheriff commended Dr. Cassell for the donation and prayed for God’s continued blessings upon him. He emphasized that the donation came the right time, especially during the prayerful season of Muslims.

   While in Voinjama, the Progressive Women and Children of Liberia, an advocacy group, welcomed Dr. Cassell and his partisans to the city of Voinjama. Dr. Cassell aslo held a roundtable discussion with the group, and the group pledged their support to the PLP. The group’s Chairperson, Lydia M. Barnes, applauded the PLP Political Leader for giving women the opportunity to participate in decision-making.
