GTMS Aminata Bangura receives certificate

The Managing Director of the Global Tracking Maritime Service (GTMS), Aminata Bangura, has appreciated Liberia Youth for Advocacy and Development for recognizing GTMS as its Institution of the Year for its numerous assistances to the Liberian society.

Speaking at a certification program Friday, June 25, 2021, GTMS General Manager, Aminata Bangura, expressed gratitude to the youth group for their farsightedness and for cross-checking their institution’s developmental records in the country.

Bangura disclosed that, as an institution, they have received many certificates from different organizations, but that the Friday certificate was the first of its kind from a youth group.

She further noted that the institution has over a hundred staffs, and ninety-five percent are Liberians.

The General Manager emphasized that GTMS is in Liberia to ensure that young Liberians benefit from skill training.

According to her, the work of GTMS is fully concerned with young people who are just from university.

She observed that, though the institution is faced with lots of challenges, they are open at every time to work with young people, especially Liberian youth who are just from the university, and are open to take internship.

Also lauding the youth group was the Compliance and Program Manager of GTMS, Johnson L. Armah, who said, “It is better for someone to recognize your effect as an institution. For you people coming to recognize our good work, we want to say thanks.”

Armah further said, “This day makes us to know that there are people outside monitoring our activities as an institution. We are doing a lot, but this day will always remind us to increase our effort.”

Presenting the certificate to GTMs was the Chairman of the Liberian Youth for Advocacy and Development (LIYAD), Anthony D. Cooper.

Cooper maintained that the work of the organization is to check and counter-check institutions which are working in the employment of young people in Liberia, and the GTMS is the one of the numerous institutions that has over 95% of youths in its employ.

The Chairman noted, “After a long research of the GTMS and realization of the immense work of the institution, we thought it wise to honor you because of your numerous help to the development of our country.”
