A group, under the banner, “Citizens Movement for the Re-election of President George M. Weah” over the weekend endorsed the representative bid of Montserrado County’s District #9 lawmaker, Frank Saah Foko, Jr.

The Citizens Movement for the Re-election of President Weah, according to several members of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), is considered one of the biggest auxiliaries of the CDC, comprising of over 300 members, mainly residents of district #9, Montserrado County.

The group, through its Chairperson, Hamzart Kiazolu, noted that after observation and revision of the track records of the representative-candidates of the district, they see representative Foko as the best choice for the people.

According to him, Representative Foko has the plan and agenda to liberate the district, evident by his contributions to the district in the short time he served as a lawmaker.

“After an intense scrutiny of over ten (10) representative-candidates in district #9, we see Representative Foko as the best option. We had no candidate for the representative election in district #9, but after a careful political examination of the ten (10) candidates, we reached a decision to support Foko based on tangibles and service to the district. Representative Foko was overwhelmingly voted for by our leadership for endorsement,” Chairman Kiazolu explained.

Responding to the citizens’ endorsement, Representative Frank Saah Foko, Jr. applauded the leadership of the Citizens Movement for the Re-election of President Weah for such a solid and thoughtful decision.

Giving reasons for his re-election, Representative Foko reminded the people of 20th Street community about his role when the residents had a legal issue against them for the land they occupied. He also described as remarkable his role when the community was hit by a massive flood, which rendered half of its residents homeless.

“I brought electricity to 20th Street and many other communities when they were in perpetual darkness by replacing damaged transformers. Look at the Airfield to Matadi Road, the Fiamah Road, the Fanti Town Road, the Fiamah Market, the 12th Street Market, the vocational school and its rapid improvement under my leadership…I have also conducted rehabilitation of feeder roads in various communities. Kindly look at my unmatched legislative engagement at the level of the National Legislature,” Representative Foko stated.

Representative Foko noted that, with all  that he had listed, he urged the citizens of district #9 to re-elect him on October 10 and not make the mistake of doing otherwise.

“The best of decisions is by voting President Weah for the Presidency, Senator Saah Joseph for the Senate and me, Frank Saah Foko, Jr., for Representative. As we have kept the legacy of our late Honorable, it is now time for us to maintain the many developments in the district by providing proper representation, adequate oversight and beneficiary laws for the transformation of our people,” he concluded.
