The new administration of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) has begun the distribution of MobiolaX5000 cellphones to senior officers of the LIS.

According to information gathered, the LIS operational cellphones were procured by the Closer User Group (CUG) phones company, following payment provided by authorities of the LIS. The purpose of the operational cellphones is to enhance communication amongst LIS officers.

Mobiola X5000 is distributed by the ranking structure at the LIS, ranging from the Commissioner General and his principal deputies to senior officers of the LIS. It createsquick access in communication among officers of the LIS across the country.

Any senior officer intending to communication using the usual Motorola (walking and talking) but cannot get in touch can easily locate his colleague’s code number, dial, and get immediate feedback through the Mobiola X5000because the operational line is always on for communication. This operational line is not for public use, but only LIS senior officers.

According to information gathered, this operational cellphone is the first of its kind for operational communication among LIS officers.

The security operations of countries in the sub-region use operational lines to communicate among themselves, and LIS is no exception when it comes to upholding best practices of the West African region.

Since the coming in of the new administration, lots of transformation have been taking place at the LIS.
