Liberians studying in Northern Cyprus under the banner, “Liberian Students Association In Northern Cyprus” (LSANC), have sent a congratulatory message to His Excellency Ambassador Joseph N. Boakai, President-elect of the Republic of Liberia, and Jeremiah Koung, Vice President-elect.

The Liberian student community in Cyprus consists of over two hundred Liberians studying in Northern Cyprus, studying for bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.Ds degrees.

According to a dispatch from the student community in Cyprus, the just-ended presidential run-off election held in Liberia shows that Liberians have grown weary of the old system of governance that derailed Liberia.

In furtherance, the release also noted even more succinctly that the legitimacy of the government lies squarely on the laps of the everyday lives of Liberians. Consequently, the student community in Cyprus have admonished the in-coming government to stay true to its promises of fighting corruption, prioritizing road connectivity, and addressing the expectations of ordinary Liberians at home.

Liberian students studying in Northern Cyprus, some of whom are due home shortly after their studies to serve their country, are headed by Jeff George Moore, President for the Liberian Students Association in Northern Cyprus.
