Following a successful fundraising event held for the National AIDS Commission (NAC) on Friday, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has donated two brand new pickup trucks to the commission to support and strengthen its operations across the country.

The donation, done in fulfillment of his pledge at the fundraising event, was formally presented on behalf of the President by Georgette Gray, Ex-Officio Member and Representative of the President to the NAC Board, during a brief ceremony held at the commission’s headquarters in Monrovia.

Gray conveyed President Boakai’s continued commitment to advancing national health priorities and ensuring the NAC is equipped to effectively deliver on its mandate. She emphasized that the vehicles will directly enhance the commission’s ability to reach communities, implement programs, and monitor HIV/AIDS interventions across the country.

“President Boakai understands the critical role that logistics play in our national HIV response,” Gray stated. “This donation is a reflection of his leadership and his government’s support to public health institutions doing essential work.”

Receiving the donation, Dr. Cecelia J. Nuta, Chairperson of the National AIDS Commission, expressed deep appreciation to President Boakai for the timely and impactful gesture. She pledged that the vehicles would be used to strengthen field coordination, expand community outreach, and ensure effective service delivery.

“This donation comes at a crucial time as we work to scale up our national response,” Dr. Nuta said. She further noted, “We are grateful to President Boakai for his generous support and for reaffirming his confidence in the commission’s work. These vehicles will significantly enhance our operational capacity.”

The Boakai administration continues to prioritize the health sector, with a focus on building strong institutions, expanding access to care, and ensuring that no community is left behind in the national development agenda, “The ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development”.
