The Board of Directors of the Liberia Maritime Authority (LiMA) has conducted a comprehensive assessment of the ongoing Executive Annex Project during its first quarter meeting, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening institutional infrastructure and operational efficiency.

The meeting, held at LiMA’s headquarters in Congo Town on Thursday, April 9, 2026, brought together members of the Board and senior management to review key developments, with particular focus on the progress and timelines of the Executive Annex Project, which is one of the authority’s flagship infrastructure initiatives.

Providing an update on the project, LiMA management reported steady progress in construction work, noting that the development remains on track in line with established milestones.

The Executive Annex, when completed, is expected to significantly enhance the authority’s administrative capacity by providing additional office space and modern facilities to support its expanding operations.

Board members commended the management team and contractors for the level of progress achieved thus far, while emphasizing the need for sustained momentum and strict adherence to quality standards.

The Board underscored that the timely completion of the project is critical to advancing LiMA’s broader modernization agenda.

Speaking during the session, the Chair of the Board highlighted the importance of infrastructure development in positioning LiMA to effectively respond to the evolving demands of the maritime sector. The chair further underscored the board’s role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and value for money in all capital projects undertaken by the institution.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for deliberation on other strategic matters, including operational performance, regulatory compliance, and on-going reform, aimed at enhancing service delivery across the maritime sector.

The Executive Annex Project forms part of LiMA’s long-term vision to transform its institutional framework, improve staff working conditions, and reinforce Liberia’s standing as a leading maritime nation.

As the project progresses, the board reaffirmed its commitment to providing the necessary oversight and support to ensure its successful completion within scope, budget, and schedule.
