Pres. Weah Applauds Turkey On National Day Observance
The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah, has sent a message of congratulations to the government and people of the Republic of Turkey on the occasion commemorating the National Day of that country.
In the massage to His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Turkey, the Liberian leader extended heartfelt congratulations and sincere best wishes on behalf of the government and people of Liberia, and in his own name.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, President Weah observed that the bond of friendship subsisting between Liberia and Turkey is growing steadily with a trade volume between the two countries soaring close to 200 million in 2015 and increased to 40 percent in 2021.
According to him, the peoples of Turkey and Liberia are collaborating on joint ventures in mining, education, and many other sectors, emphasizing that the meeting between him and President Edogan recently in Lomé, Togo, reaffirmed the willingness of the two leaders to work together on mutually beneficial initiatives that will bring development and prosperity to both countries.
President George Weah further expressed confidence that the bilateral relations between the two countries will grow in earnest to incorporate a direct flight route of Turkish Airlines between Monrovia and Ankara.
The Liberia President then noted that the perspectives of the two countries on matters of global concern continue to converge as the two states remain resolute in the shared pursuit for the continual promotion of world peace and prosperity.
