Rep. Yogboh Launches Road Rehabilitation Across D-12
In fulfillment of one of his campaign promises to the residents of his district—that he will regularly rehabilitate all major community roads in the constituency—Montserrado County’s district #12 Representative, Jerry K. Yogboh, has launched a massive road rehabilitation project across the district.
On Saturday, March 9, 2024 it was a scene of jubilations and praises from residents of the Chicken Soup Factory community when Representative Yogboh launched the community road rehabilitation in the community. The project is expected to affect the rehabilitation of five major community roads in the district: Chicken Soup Factory, Kesselly Boulevard, Karduma, Swagger Island and Shoe Factory community roads.
Speaking when he officially launched the District #12 Community Road Rehabilitation Project, Representative Jerry K. Yogboh said, “During my campaign to the people of district # 12, I promised to regularly rehabilitate the major community roads in the district. In fulfillment of this promise, I am today launching the rehabilitation of the major community roads across district #12. I am starting with the Chicken Soup Factory to move on to four other major community roads in the district. While this intervention is intended to make the roads less susceptible to damage and potholes during the rainy season, I have started engaging the Ministry of Public Works to include the pavement of the Chicken Soup Factory road in the ministry’s community road construction plan.”
He vowed, “As representative of the people of district #12, I will ensure that the district’s community roads are pliable. The rehabilitation work will be carried out on five major community roads in the district: Chicken Soup Factory, Kesselly Boulevard, Karduma, Swagger Island and Shoe Factory communities.”
In brief remark, the Chairman of the Chicken Soup Factory community, William T.K. Yango, stated, “Honorable Yogboh, I thank you for keeping your promise to the people of the district, and wish to express appreciation to you for the work. The people of Chicken Soup Factory welcome the project, and promise to work with you to develop the district because we see you as a developmental leader who wants to improve the lives of the citizens. I hope and pray that you will keep seeking the welfare, interest and concerns of the district people.”
The residents has meanwhile praised the lawmaker’s initiative, noting that during the rainy season the rain causes damage to community roads, which lead to collapse of the body and side of the road, with water gathering in potholes and obstructing to smooth flow traffic while making it difficult to walk and move vehicles.
According to them, the community road rehabilitation initiated by Representative Yogboh will greatly help to reduce the level of damage caused to the roads during the rainy season.
