The Chief Executive Officer of Rosemart Incorporated, Rose Yancy Adikwu, has refuted the publication of Daylight that her company is illegally shipping timber from Nimba County to an unidentified destination.

CEO Adikwu said the allegation of the Daylight is false and misleading, and only intended to damage the reputation of her business entity.

According to her, recently it was reported that Rosemart company shipped a huge quality of logs from a forest in Nimba County to an unknown destination, but described the report as only intended to undermine her work.

According to Daylight’s publication, the Managing Director of the Forestry Development Authority (FDA), Mike Doryen, and other top managers of the agency, had sanctioned the firm’s illegal operations.

The publication claimed that the company was awarded the Kpaytuo Plantation in Saclepea over six years ago, and has illegally shipped over US$100,000 worth of teak logs, an expensive wood used for construction.

But speaking with a team of reporters on Tuesday, Rose Adikwu said her company is legally registered and permitted by the FDA to operate in Liberia. She called on the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) to speedily investigate the Daylight for publishing what she termed “fake news” about her company in an attempt to blackmail her.
