The Liberian Senate has concurred with the House of Representatives on the passage of the Fiscal Year 2026 national budget,‎ following several days of thorough hearings on the expenditure aspect of the budget with key government’s agencies and institutions.

‎   ‎During the Senate’s Thursday session, Pro-Temp Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence revealed that the budget captures several key areas: education, health, agriculture, infrastructure development, security and also all counties’ capitols, among several others.

‎   ‎ Karnga-Lawrence used the moment to thank her colleagues for the cooperation and the unbending teamwork throughout the year.

‎   ‎In recognition of the many sacrifices of committee work of deliberation for results and the late night stay for the way-forward on issues, Pro Temp Lawrence encouraged all senators not to be distracted but to continuously keep the focus as elders, for the common good of the country.

‎   ‎Senator Karnga Lawrence further thanked the staffers of the Liberian Senate and members of the media for their professional and tireless efforts in helping to make the Senate stronger and better, and called on them to keep it up for the sake of Liberia.

The Senate has meanwhile closed for its 3rd constituency break, and is expected to return on the 2nd working Monday in January to commence regular session, in accordance with Article 32 (a) of the 1986 Constitution.
