Taylor: “No Progress Without Unity”

A Liberian maritime expert and prominent son of Maryland County, Austin Taylor, is calling on Liberians to make peace and unity the bar for achieving national growth and development.

   Speaking to journalists Tuesday in the township of Gardnersville, Taylor said development and industrialization will continue to allude Liberia unless Liberians accept to put aside their political, religious and tribal differences and work together for the common good of their country.

   Austin Taylor spoke to reporters Tuesday, August 24, 2021, shortly after the program marking the induction of a new corps of officers of the Feloken Development Association, and the occasion marking the birthday of his father, the late Maryland County Senator, J. Barney Taylor, were held.

   Austin Taylor, also a citizen of Feloken Town, praised his kinsmen for seeking a common front of peace, unity and reconciliation, with the view of designing and implementing policies and programs that are geared toward addressing the socio-economic problems of their town, district, county and country.

   Taylor pledged his unflinching commitment to helping to promote all development programs intended to advance development in their town, district and region.

   Earlier, an elder of Feloken Town and former Representative candidate, Ben Wilson, gave the history of Feloken Town and Barrobo District. He called on his kinsmen to keep the dream of their forefathers alive by bringing their people and communities together to promote unity and development.

   For his part, the newly inducted President of the Feloken Development Association, Solomon Barlue, expressed his leadership’s commitment and dedication to alleviating the socio-economic challenges of their town, district and region.

   Barlue named the construction of a town hall, market building with toilet and water facilities and the recruitment and training of teachers in Feloken as some of the priority items on his association’s agenda.
